I had a good week with the results last weekend with 9 out of 10 correct and 1 fully correct score so I’ve had a go at some of the International games this Saturday.

England have looked much better under Capello than at anytime in a long while, I have much more confidence than at anytime under Mclaren or Sven, Sven had a great record but Capello just seems to have the right attitude, no-one gets picks because of their name they have to prove them selves, which is unfortunate if your name is Michael Owen.

Scotland V Macedonia
Scotland need a win in this game or their play off hopes are gone, against Norway they looked poor after the sending off after being marginally the better team before hand. Caldwell deserved to go you can’t pull back a player as the last man when you’ve just been booked. Scotland might feel aggrieved that Norway weren’t down to 10 before them though as Riise could have been given a straight red for either nasty challenge he did and was lucky to only be booked for one of them. There is a bit of s siege mentality with the Scotland squad and anything less than a win here when Holland is next up will surely cost Burley his job.

Poland V Northern Ireland
Who’d have thought Northern Ireland would have a realistic chance of winning a group with Slovakia, Slovenia , Poland and the Czech Republic in it, not me for one. I would have predicted a mid table finish would have been most likely but it shows what i know. Nigel Worthington’s men have 3 tough games left Poland and the Czech republic away and current group leaders Slovakia away and winning all 3 should win them the group despite Slovakia having a game in hand. That being said Poland is a tough place to go.

Revenge is not the main motivation for losing in Cyprus last time, really? it would be if i were manager, I would want to go out and win handsomely, but there you go Giovanni Trapattoni is a well respected manager with a lot of Medals, I’m some bloke sat at a compute. Anyway i believe Eire will be too strong for Cyprus
