Mystic Jarv’s Sunday and Monday Predictions

Posted by Jarv on August 22, 2009

Here are my predictions for Sunday and Mondays Games

West Ham United Vs Tottenham Hotspurs
Spurs have gotten off to a fantastic start and boy do i wish i’d put Defoe in my fantasy footie team, he’s been in it at the beginning of the last 3 or 4 seasons and didn’t this year as he usually lets me down and needed transferring out. Harry redknapp has spurs playing brilliantly and i expect more goals from them in this game

Gianfranco Zola, A Manager everyone seems to like, they play good football and got a good win at Wolves They might struggle with lack of fire power with only Carlton Cole fit.

Mystic Jarv Predicts 2-3 to Tottenham Hotspurs

Burnley vs Everton
Burnley got the result of their season on Wednesday night, beating the incumbant champions in  their first home game in the top flight for 33 years. Burnley can’t afford to relax and must put in the same effort and work rate for another 36 Premier league games and they might just survive.

Everton can’t afford to hang onto Lescott for too much longer as the saying goes if he doesn’t want to play for them get rid, And quickly so they have time to bring in a replacement.  Can Everton put the disruption out of their minds and get the 3 points?

Mystic Jarv Predicts Burnley to work their socks off and get a 1-1 Draw

Burnley vs Everton Match Discussion

Fulham Vs Chelsea
Fulham had a fantastic season last year and can Roy Hodgson do it again? He’s brought in a few good players who have decent Premier League experience, Hopefully they will hold onto Hangeland as he is key to their defence.

Carlo Ancelotti has chelsea playing well and have twice come from behind this season, they are well organised and have a very good squad.

Mystic Jarv Predicts 1-2 to Chelsea

Fulham Vs Chelsea Match Discussion

Liverpool Vs Aston Villa
What has gone wrong at Villa, they look poor defensively and lack cutting edge going forward, many more bad results and O’Neill will be under immense pressure. Its not just the beginning of this season their form at the end of the last campaign must be a worry for Villa fans.

Liverpool were very poor against Tottenham but looked much better against Stoke Defensively Liverpool have some worries and have signed Sotirios Kyrgiakos to bolster their defensive line, whether he starts only Rafa knows.

Mystic Jarv Predicts Villa to get their first goal of the season but Liverpool to win 3-1

Mystic Jarv – Saturday Premier League Predictions 22/08

Posted by Jarv on August 21, 2009

Like a duracell bunny I wont give up no matter how wrong i am. First up Lets see how i did in midweek

Sunderland Vs Chelsea predicted 1-1 actual Result 1-3 – Nothing There
Wigan Athletic Vs Wolves predicted 2-0 actual result 0-1 – Nothing there
Birmingham Vs portsmouth predicted 1-0 actual result 1-0 – Spot on Yay
Burnley Vs Manchester United predicted result 1-2 actual result 1-0 – I dont want to talk about it
Hull City Vs Tottenham Hotspurs predicted 1-2 actual result 1-5 – Right result, wrong score
Liverpool Vs Stoke City predicted 1-0 actual result 4-0 – Right result, wrong score

So a mixed Bag midweek much like last weekend. So onto Saturday

Arsenal Vs Portsmouth
After destroying Everton on the first weekend and beating Celtic in midweek it is  a great time to be an Arsenal fan, i stand by my statement i don’t think they will challenge this season as soon as they get a few injuries. Wenger has Arsenal playing great football as usual and it must be a joy to be a season ticket holder at the Emirates, not only do you get to watch great football every week but you have some decent amount of cash to afford one 🙂

I’m going to start sounding like a stuck record regarding Paul Hart’s Portsmouth, What is going on down there on the south coast, David James is now rumoured to be on his Way to spurs to link up once again with Harry Redknapp, Will there be anyone left by the time the take over happens….if it happens

Mystic Jarv Predicts 2-1 to Arsenal

Arsenal Vs Portsmouth Match Discussion

Birmingham City Vs Stoke City
First win of the season for Birmingham midweek against Portsmouth, for what its worth I think it was a penalty, eyes on the ball or not David James took the player out who may have got to the ball before him.

Regardless of last seasons results against Liverpool I’m sure Tony Pulis wouldn’t have been expecting anything from Anfield. Its sure to be a tough season for both of these teams and its games like this that both teams really need to win, if it were 3 games from the end of the season instead of 3 games in pundits up and down the country would be calling this a Relegation 6 pointer and to be honest the game has no less significance to both clubs. Their main aim this season will definitely be survival first then see where they can get to.

Mystic Jarv predicts Birmingham to edge it 1-0 but it could go either way.

Birmingham City Vs Stoke City Match Discussion

Hull City Vs Bolton Wanderers
Hull will be smarting from the 5-1 demolition at the hands of Spurs and they seem to be really struggling to bring in a striker, latest to be linked is David Nugent who hasn’t been able to get a game on a regular basis at Portsmouth, No wins since december at home for Hull.

Bolton have no points either and just like Birmingham Vs Stoke this game is a must win for both teams and Bolton were certainly the 2nd best team in the game versus Sunderland. I do expect them to have a bit more than Hull though

Mystic Jarv predicts a 1-0 win for Bolton

Hull City Vs Bolton Wanderers Match Discussion

Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
What a time to be a Man City fan, loads of money to spend, lots of new players and a sense of real expectation. City really have to win games like this and should be expected to comfortably, Hughes has spent a quarter of a billion pounds since he took over and knows his job must be on the line unless they seriously challenge for the title.

Wolves got a good win against Wigan bit i still think they will struggle this season

Mystic Jarv predicts a comfortable 2-0 home win

Manchester City vs Wolverhampton Wanderers Match Discussion

Sunderland Vs Blackburn Rovers
Darren bent has got off to a flyer so far this season and at this rate won’t be far away from a chance at the golden boot, Steve Bruce wouldn’t have expected to get much out of a game against Chelsea and Sunderland should have a great shot at a top half finish under Bruce, especially if Bent keeps firing.

Sam Allerdyce has a team of battlers and will no doubt work hard against Sunderland, Blackburn have signed Salgado on a free transfer and time will tell if Big Sam can get much out of him.

Mystic Jarv predicts 2-0 to Sunderland

Sunderland Vs Blackburn Rovers Match Discussion

Wigan Athletic Vs Manchester United
There will be some damaged ego’s in the Manchester united camp after losing against Burnley, most United fans i know can’t seem to understand why Carrick took that penalty, it must have been decided before hand however i would have expected Rooney on 99 United goals to want to have made it 100 Will Wigan be on the End of a United backlash?

Wigan lost against Wolves in midweek and I think they will lose this one too but i do expect them to survive this season

Mystic Jarv predicts 0-1 to Manchester United

Wigan Athletic Vs Manchester United Match Discussion

This weekend was a great weekend……

Posted by Jarv on October 27, 2008

, if you are a Liverpool, Hull  or Tottenham Hotspur fan.

From Liverpool’s point of view they went top by 3 points, one of their main rivals lost and another only picked up a draw, unfortunately for them Hull and Arsenal both won to keep up a bit of pressure. Whether the bookies agree or not Liverpool will now be seen in their own fans eyes at least as major contenders, perhaps even favourites. The question is will they thrive or crumble with the added pressure this brings and do they have a strong enough squad should they still be in the Carling cup once the FA cup and champions league get serious. You won’t hear this from many Man United fans but I hope they are still contending at the end of the season, not winning the league obviously but healthy competition is good for everyone.

I awoke Saturday morning to the news Ramos had been sacked and Harry Redknapp was to be the new manager of Tottenham, later in the day I was even more shocked Tottenham had won a game, perhaps I shouldn’t have been because in Redknapp, Tottenham have a manager players seem to love playing for. As much fun as I’ve had at the few spurs fans I know’s expense I’m sure Redknapp will have them moving the right way up the table, the right way from their point of view anyway.

I do feel sorry for Portsmouth and I fear for them come January if the rumoured fire sale comes to fruition and I fully expect Defoe to make the return journey to Tottenham along with maybe one or 2 other players. One thing I am sure of is Sol Campbell and Tony Adams won’t be 2 of them even though a defender of Sol’s caliber is exactly what Tottenham need I just can’t see him going there after the abuse he receives from them and all those years at Arsenal will surely stop Adams going to Spurs although stranger things have happened.

Hull’s spectacular season rolls on with another 3 points and 20 in total and having the same as Chelsea even at this stage of the season is a major achievement from a club many (not me I will add)  tipped for relegation. 20 points after 9 games should barring a spectacular implosion make sure they stay in the Premier league for another year, I don’t think they will manage Europe as I think the competition will be too strong long term but I’m sure staying up was their number 1 priority before the season kicked off.

If I were a Newcastle United I would be worried, while Tottenham was struggling the pressure was off them a little but with the new manager and the upturn in form that usually brings, Newcastle are looking at the abyss although I do think they will get something out of West Bromwich albion on Tuesday. The Longer the turmoil over the Sale and having a caretaker manger in charge goes on, the harder it will be to escape the drop.
